Anorexia Bulimiacost

Anorexia Bulimiacost is just part of the eating disorders that plague many people today because they think they are fat. Many people begin by going on a diet to lose some weight and before they know it they are losing more than they should lose and stay healthy too. In their mind they see themselves as still fat when they look in the mirror. They will go without eating, purge, exercise excessively, eat low calorie, low fat foods, or skip meals completely. Then they hide behind baggy clothing or layered clothing so others can not see the amount of weight they have actually lost. In many cases there has been excessive damage to the brain, heart, liver, kidneys, and other vital parts of the body before it becomes known that the person needs help. They have ways of hiding their symptoms until their health becomes so dangerously unhealthy that they begin to suffer and they can no longer hide the eating disorder. Anorexia and bulimia can cause major damage to every part of the body and many parts can not be repaired if the damage is too extensive. This is the case for many and they do not seek help or admit that they have a problem until after the damage is already done.

Some of the signs and symptoms of anorexia, bulimia, and other eating disorders are, thin appearance, fatigue, dizziness, fainting, osteoporosis, absence of menstruation (in females), decreased testosterone (in males), dehydration, dry skin, irregular heart beat, low blood pressure, constipation, diarrhea, brittle nails, thinning, breaking or falling out of hair, soft hair all over the body, refusal to eat, trouble concentration, lack of emotion, looking in the mirror weighing themselves frequently, complaining of being fat when they aren’t, and more. Some of the health problems caused from eating disorders are anemia, heart problems (even failure in some cases), bone loss which causes the risk of fractures, Lung problems much like emphysema, gastrointestinal problems such as bloating or nausea, kidney, liver, heart, and brain problems, low blood potassium, low sodium, and low chloride. In many cases the damage is so severe that the body can not repair all of the damage by the time the victim seeks help. Some of the mental disorders caused from the eating disorders are depression, anxiety, personality disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and drug abuse. Some victims commit or attempt suicide.

There are over 8 million diagnosed cases of eating disorders in the United States. This would indicate that there are also many undiagnosed cases because the victims usually do not seek help until they begin suffering from some serious health problem. They do not want to admit that they even have a problem so they don’t until they are forced to. By this time it is many times too late to repair all of the damage.
