Anorexia Food Pyramid


The food pyramid is not a part of anorexic victims lives. They do not eat right, if any at all, they skip meals, they make all kinds of excuses not to eat. The new food pyramid diet guidelines might help those who want to lose weight so they can lose weight sensibly and not cause major damage to their body in the process. Some of the suggested guidelines in this pyramid are, eat less cholesterol, limit saturated animal fat, avoid trans fat, limit mono unsaturated fat, eat at least one serving of fish daily or every other day to get polyunsaturated fat and necessary fatty acids/Omega 3, balance proteins: I daily fish/nuts, 1 daily dried beans/peas, 1 daily serving poultry or red meat. Reduce the intake of salt and sodium, sugar, and limit natural sugar products such as corn, rice, potatoes, beans, peas, nuts, some fruits and fruit juices. Avoid fatty meats, milk and dairy products, white flour products, sugar and salt. Eat more lower sugar fruits, green leafy vegetables, multi-grain “dark” breads, and cereals.

Real food is better than the processed, artificially flavored products. There have been chemicals and artificial ingredients added to most processed foods and the processing method can even cause problems because of the ingredients added in the processing process. You can carefully monitor your weight daily and maintain a healthy weight but still lose the unwanted excess weight. Do not try to lose more than is healthy for your height, bone structure, sex, and age. There are weight charts to go by in medical books or online. You can do a quick search and find one.

Anorexia is an eating disorder that has become a real problem because there are so many cases being diagnosed. The public needs to be aware of this so they can help those close to them get the help they need before there is major damage to the body. Anorexia can damage all vital parts of the body if they do not seek the treatment they need. If you suspect that someone close to you might have an eating disorder such as anorexia, try to get them to seek help. Their life may be in serious danger, depending on how much damage has already been done. Many of the victims of anorexia can usually manage to hide their problem until medical treatment is needed because their health begins to fail them. They can hide their thinness behind layered or baggy clothing but they can not hide the health problems when they surface. If the damage is too severe, there may not be a way to reverse all of the damage. Some people have died from anorexia and other eating disorder. It does not have to be this way. People can use the pyramid guidelines above and lose weight the healthy way. More information can be found online.
