Anorexia Journals

There are anorexia journals, stories, testimonials, pictures, and a lot of information about anorexia to be found online. All one has to do is a quick search and you can find many sites with information about anorexia and other eating disorders. Some of the pictures can break your heart because it is so hard to believe that people can be so thin. There are some famous celebrities who have suffered and in some cases, died, from anorexia and other eating disorders. There is no much pressure on society today to be thin and some people have such a low self esteem that they cannot cope. Many people feel that they have to be skinny in order to fit in with their group, club, or just to succeed in life. There are more and more overweight people in the western world and many need to lose weight but they do not need to become underweight. Many feel that they have to lose weight as fast as possible and they have an obsessive compulsive disorder which makes it easy for them to stay on a strict diet and exercise excessively so it is easier for them to lose an excessive amount of weight in a short period of time. The victims will wear layered or baggy clothing in order to hide their anorexia and they will not admit that they have a problem because in their mind they don’t have a problem. Anorexia controls the person and damages the brain, heart, liver, kidneys, liver, and every other vital organ in the body. When the victim looks in the mirror (and they do this often), they see themselves as fat. The brain is damaged to the point that they do not see things as they truly are and they can not control their weigh loss. By the time the victim admits they have a problem, they are suffering severe damage to the body and require medication and psychological help.

There have been over 8 million people diagnosed with anorexia and other eating disorders. There are probably just as many yet to be diagnosed or are never diagnosed because they can not afford the treatment they need. They may not have health insurance and can not afford the help they need. The average age of victims with anorexia is 17. The majority of people who suffer from anorexia and other eating disorders are between the ages of 10 and 20 but there are a few who are under 10 and some who are over 20. Anorexia can be a problem at any age. There are some senior citizens who suffer from anorexia and often goes undiagnosed. The death rate of anorexia victims is higher in seniors than any other age.
