Refutating Arguments With Anorexia There are refutating arguments about people with anorexia but it is not something to argue about. It is something that needs to be addressed and everyone needs to be educated about anorexia and other eating disorders because they are fast becoming a major problem in our society. The society we live in is a big part of the problem. Just recently a famous model was accused of being too fat when she had actually just gained enough weight that she looks even more beautiful than ever before. She has also began a movement called “So What?” in order to let others know it doesn’t matter to her that she has gained a few pounds. It does not matter what one looks like on the outside, it is what is inside that counts and there is just too much stress put on what one looks like on the outside. It matters what you think about yourself and that you love yourself. We all are different in looks and personalities and that is what makes everyone so unique. If we were are alike, it would be a mighty boring world indeed! Those who suffer from eating disorders because of the pressure put on them to lose weight need to seek medical help as soon as possible because anorexia and other eating disorders can be very dangerous to the body. Anorexia can damage every vital part of the body if it is not treated soon enough. It can also lead to death. Some of the damage may not be repaired or reversed. It all depends on the amount of damage done. There are some who suffer from health problems for the rest of their lives because of th damage done by anorexia. Anorexia controls the body and damages the mind so many people will not admit that they have a problem until their health begins to fail them and they require medical treatment. The disease has to be diagnosed before treatment can begin. Sometimes the disease is miss-diagnosed and the victim suffers major damage before it is recognized. Many people who suffer from anorexia and other eating disorders become that way because they have low self esteem, peer pressure, stress, possible abuse, partly genetic, or social pressure. The problem is that they try to lose the weight too fast by exercising excessively and not eating right. Another problem is that once they get to a healthy weight, they continue to lose because the anorexia has taken over their mind and they see themselves as fat every time they look in the mirror (which is often). Anorexia damages vital parts of the body such as the brain, heart, kidneys, lungs, bones, liver, and others. Everyone needs to know the signs and symptoms and the damage anorexia can do to the body so they can help friends or family members who are suffering from the disease.
