Conquering Depression and Anxiety Through Exercise Conquering depression and anxiety through exercise one part of the self help you can give yourself if you are suffering from some form of depression or anxiety. There are many medications, and/or therapy, which can help along with the exercise if you seek the help of your doctor. If you are suffering from anxiety or depression it is a good idea to exercise or take walks each day. Depression is caused from a chemical imbalance in the brain and different events in one’s life can trigger the bouts of depression or anxiety. By exercising or walking you can get a relaxed feeling and it may help in the fight to cure the depression. Exercise helps the body function better. Without the proper treatment for depression, the body can develop more health problems and those around you will suffer from it too. Depression can be helped and it is not shameful to be diagnosed with depression. You are not alone as there are sixteen percent of the Americans are suffering from some form of depression. Many people try to work their way through their depression by themselves and it makes it harder for them and those around them. The sooner you get help the sooner the whole family can get back to their usual activities and hobbies. There are other things a depressed victim can ‘self help’ themselves to aid in the recovery of anxiety or depression. Some of the things they can do is: learn as much as possible about their depression disorder, recognize what triggers the episodes of depression, track the symptoms (time, date, place, etc,) set up a system to help keep track of medications, and join a support group. These things along with the right medications and/or therapy can get you through your depression and possibly prevent further occurrences. If you are suffering from bipolar depression, you will have it for life but medications can keep your system in balance as long as you take it as prescribed on a continuing basis. There is help for all forms of depression but the first step is up to you. You have to ask for help and see a doctor to get started on the proper treatment. Some symptoms of depression or anxiety are: restlessness, feeling worthless, hopeless, guilty, sadness, irritability, low self esteem, sleep disorder, appetite changes, rapid weight loss or gain, tired a lot, lack of interest in activities or hobbies you normally like to do, cannot concentrate or make decisions, tense, nervous, jittery, thoughts of death or suicide, and more. If you have one or more of these symptoms, see your doctor for help. All Text Copyright © Safety2005.org |
