Depression Cure If you are suffering from depression and you are looking for a cure, you are not likely to find one. There is no cure for depression but there are medications and therapy that can control the symptoms of depression. There are many possible symptoms and there are many name brand, generic, and alternative medications, therapy, and hypnotherapy for depression. There are about 16% of Americans who suffer from some form of depression. Many will not seek help and many are not even aware that they have depression. Depression can be very dangerous to the victim and the people around them if they do not seek professional help and get the proper treatment for their form of depression and symptoms they are suffering from. If left untreated, it can progress to a very dangerous level. This is the case for many suicidal cases. Many of those who attempted suicide or committed suicide were suffering for depression and some for a prolonged period of time. Sometimes people will notice a friend or a family member acting differently but do not think anything about it. They just think it is a mood change. Severe mood changes are a symptom of depression and if it continues, let your friend or family member know you think they should see a doctor. Some mood changes are normal but sudden outbursts of anger or irritability or withdrawing into a shell is not normal. These are indications that something is wrong in their life and they should seek help. There are a lot of medications available for depression and no one should shave to suffer from it. It is believed that there is a chemical imbalance in the brain and different events in one’s lives lead to the onset of depression. It is nothing to be ashamed of because you did not cause it. You can not know your body is out of whack. Some think it can be inherited. But you can control it if you get the proper treatment. Your doctor can diagnose the type of depression you are suffering from and decide which medication and/or therapy is best suited for you. Only you know how you really feel so you need to be upfront with your doctor and tell him exactly how you feel and what symptoms you are having. Ask questions and answer the doctors questions honestly. If you share information about your symptoms, family history, the length of your illness, special events in your life (for example, childbirth), and anything else you might think of that may have a berring on your depression. With this information and a few tests, the doctor may be able to diagnose your problem and get you started on medications right away. All Text Copyright © Safety2005.org |
