Best Diet Ephedra Pill Looking for the best diet ephedra pill? You might not find it. Ephedra was banned in the United States in October, 2006 and many products have replaced ephedra with another alternative ingredient. Other products containing ephedra have been discontinued. Of course all of them had claimed to be the best so that would have been debatable. Ephedra has been proven by the Food and Drug Administration to be dangerous and in some cases life threatening for many who used it. The FDA has been trying to get ephedra banned for many years. They have received reports for many years of serious health issues from products and the common link in them all was ephedra. They received over 800 reports from 1994 until 2003 of people suffering from heart attacks and strokes and some deaths. They got the Federal court to ban ephedra in 2003 but some people did not agree with the FDA and filed a petition to get the ban lifted on ephedra in 2004. In 2005 the court decided to loft the ban because they felt the FDA did not have enough evidence to prove ephedra was dangerous if used in smaller amounts of less than 10 mg. The FDA continued receiving reports of injuries and from 1997 until 2006 they received over 1,000 reports of hospital emergencies and at least 17 deaths associated with ephedra when as little as 8 mg was used. The FDA decided to have some of the products containing ephedra tested for amounts of ephedra in each dose. The results were that some of the products contained more and some less than the amounts stated on the labels of the products. Some of them contained no ephedra at all. The FDA got the court to ban ephedra for the second time in October, 2006. This time they had enough proof. Side effects reported from the use of products which contained ephedra were heart attacks, strokes, seizures, rapid heart beat, irregular heart beat, high blood pressure, insomnia, anxiety, nervousness, tremors, psychosis, nausea, vomiting, allergies, hives, itching, death, and others. The numbers of people injured and the serious side effects were just too great for the FDA to ignore. Many people have been compensated for their injuries and families who lost a member due to ephedra have been compensated. Many more are filing lawsuits and are waiting for their day in court. If you think you might have a case, discuss it with a good lawyer in your area who handles cases of this type. There is a statute of limitations on cases such as these so do not wait too long. You might be eligible for compensation for your injuries and suffering. All Text Copyright © Safety2005.org |
