Buy Ephedra Products It is going to be hard, if not impossible, for you to buy ephedra products in the United States. Ephedra was banned in the United States in 2003 and again in 2006. Ephedra was proven to be dangerous to your health and in some cases life threatening. There were over 800 reports of strokes, heart attacks and some deaths from 1994 until 2003 from products containing ephedra. The FDA got the Federal court to ban ephedra in 2003. Some people did not feel that the FDA were right in thinking the ephedra was dangerous so they got a petition together and filed it with the court in 2004 and in 2005 the court agreed with the people and lifted the ban on ephedra . The court did not feel that the FDA had enough evidence to prove that ephedra was dangerous when taken in doses of 10 mg or less. The FDA continued to receive reports of heart attacks and strokes from some who had taken as little as 8 mg of ephedra. They received over 1,000 reports of hospital emergencies and at least 17 deaths from 1997 to 2006. They decided to have some products which contained ephedra tested to find out how much ephedra was in each dose. Some of the products contained more ephedra and some contained less than the amount stated on the labels. Some products contained no ephedra at all even though it was listed on the label. The FDA gathered their reports and data they compiled and took it back to court. This time the court agreed with the FDA and ephedra was again banned in October, 2006. Many of the products made in the United States and contained ephedra have already replaced the ephedra with another ingredient and some products have been discontinued. Ephedra came from a plant found in desert regions around the globe and it was also made synthetically. It was known as ephedra and other names as well. They were Herbal Ecstasy, Chinese Ephedra, Ma Huang, Mormon Tea, Squaw Tea, Desert Tea, and Epitonin. The stems of the ephedra shrubs are dried and turned into a white powder. Ephedra has been used by the Chinese for over 5,000 years and for many years by the Native Americans, Mexicans, and the Mormons for medicinal purposes. The side effects of ephedra that were reported are heart attacks, strokes, rapid heart beat, irregular heart beat, high blood pressure, insomnia, anxiety, nervousness, tremors, seizures, allergies, hives, itching, nausea, vomiting, psychosis, death, and more. There are some very good alternative weight loss products without ephedra and without the side effects. Ephedra may be found in other countries but it is banned in the United States.
