Discount Ephedra
You may be able to find some discount ephedra in some countries but it is not allowed in the United States. It was banned from the United States in late 2006 so there might be some that is still being sld in the US without the authorities knowledge. It may be bought online from other countries bit it would be illegal once it lands in the United States. It doesn’t make much sense why anyone would want to take the chance when it is so dangerous to your health. There are other alternatives which can work just as well as ephedra did but are much safer to use. Some companies have replaced ephedra in their weight loss pills with Hoodia Gordonii. Hoodia does not have any side effects and has been scientifically tested in labs. The studies were performed on both rats and humans and in every case study the subject lost weight. In some cases there was an increase of energy reported. Hoodia Gordonii (P57) when taken in large enough doses (at least 250 mg.) can work alone and aid in your weight loss without any other ingredients. Ephedra was used as a medication for asthma, bronchial tubes congestion, lung problems, common colds, and for weight loss, as an energy booster, and as a sports performance booster. Ephedra has been used for many years by the Chinese, Mormons, Native Americans, and Mexicans for medicinal purposes. The different names for ephedra are Mormon tea, Squaw Tea, Herbal Ecstasy, Ma Huang, Chinese Ephedra, and Epitonin. However ephedra has caused many people severe health problems and some deaths. That was the reason for the ban in the United States. The health problems people have experienced are heart attacks, strokes, insomnia, nervousness, anxiety, high blood pressure, seizures, rapid heart beat, irregular heartbeat, nausea, vomiting, allergies, hives, itching, psychosis, and death. There were over 1,000 reports to the FDA of people hospitalized from serious health problems because they used some product which contained ephedra plus at least 17 deaths from 1997 - 2006.
There are four members of the ephedra family. They are Ephedrine ( acts similar to adrenaline, is less effective but works longer. Nor-pseudo-ephedrine is a form found in over the counter medications used as an appetite suppressant. Nor-ephedrine also has amphetamine like effects. Pseudo-ephedrine is a weaker form than the others but still has the same effects and the same dangers. It was mainly used as a decongestion because of its vasoconstrictor effect. The ephedra has potentially lethal stimulant effects on the central nervous system and the heart. The FDA received reports of serious health issues caused by the ephedra even when small amounts as little as 8 mg. was used.
