Metabolift With Ephedra
Metabolift with ephedra was just one of the many products which contained ephedra which was banned in the United States in the later part2006. Some companies replaced the ephedra with another ingredient so they could continue selling their products in the United States. There are some people who are trying to get the ban lifted but it may not happen. Too many people have suffered serious health problems and some deaths were reported to the Food and Drug Administration. Other products which contained ephedra were Trimspa (replaced ephedra with hoodia gordonii), Metabolife, Metabolite, MegaPro, MuscleTech Hydroxycut, Xenadrine, Nature’s Treat Energy Plus, Diet Fuel, Shape-Fast Plus, Ultimate Orange, Ripped Fuel, and Ripped Force. There are other diet supplements which contained ephedra and the ephedra is called other names besides ephedra. If you come across any products with Mormon Tea, Squaw Tea, Ma Huang, or Herbal Ecstasy, this is just other names for ephedra. You should be careful if you have any supplements or medications with any of these names in the list of ingredients. The ephedra has been used by the Chinese for over 5,000 years for lung problems but it is not known how many people may have died or suffered from other serious problems because of it. Ephedra was also used for asthma, common colds, congestion, and problems with the bronchial tubes.
There have been over 800 (another reported over 1,000) people who have suffered from illnesses and at least 17 have died due to the use of products containing ephedra. Ephedra, even in small doses can be fatal. The Food and Drug Administration first banned the ephedra in 2003 then in 2005 the ban was overturned so it was allowed in smaller doses (no more than 12 mg. Then it was reported that people suffered from heart attacks and strokes with as little as 8 mg. Of ephedra in the products so the FDA banned the ephedra altogether in the United States. The number of people who suffered from some side effects was just too great a number. When ephedra is combined with caffeine, it can lead to serious problems. There are other supplements which can help people just as well as ephedra but without the serious effects. If you have any serious side effects with any natural supplement you should report it to your doctor. You can also contact your local Health Department and the Food and Drug Administration Consumer Hotline at 800-532-4440. The natural supplements are not controlled by the FDA because they do not contain any drugs and are considered a natural food supplement. There are, however, some natural supplements which can cause side effects. Do your research before you try anything and stay safe.
