Discovery Health Channel


The Discovery Health Channel is a cable channel with the focus on health. The channel began to air on August 2, 1999 in the United States. The channel is dedicated to airing highlights on different health and wellness subjects. This is a nonfiction channel and it is filled with up to date information and discoveries about wellness, health, and all related subjects. You can see the discovery health channel on channels 279, 189, 613 (4DTV Digital), 141, and the channels vary on other sources such as Comcast, Verizon FIOS, Time Warner Cable, Cox cable, Charter, and Bright House Networks. The network is a part of Discovery Communications, Inc. Which is the parent company of other popular channels such as Discovery Channel, TLC, Animal Planet, and the Travel Channel. The Health channel has aired shows about babies (special delivery, birth day, etc.). They have had plastic surgery reports, before and after results and National Body Challenge There have also been reports about blood and many other interesting subjects. The channel airs reviews and news reports about medical breakthroughs and up to date information on health related subjects. Check it out sometime, you might learn something new.

The Health Channel (DHC) won a Daytime Emmy in 2004 for its original serious which reported on adoptive families which was titled “Adoption Stories”. The channel did include some fitness related programs but has since began a sister network called FitTV.

The Discovery Health Channel also has a web site and the Discovery health channel, Canada also has its own shows and website which are geared toward Canadians and can be seen on Canadian cable channels. There is a world of medical information out there and you can learn a lot just by doing a little research on the internet or by watching the health channels on television. There is information about any health issue that you might want to know about. There is also a lot of information about the alternative supplements many people are using to maintain their health or to lose weight.
