Group Health Insurance Many companies offer their employees group health insurance as an incentive for working for them Many of them do not pay for the full premiums however. Some of them will pay a percentage of the premiums and the employee is responsible for the rest. In some cases they employee has to pay the full amount and it is deducted from their paycheck. When someone gets their health insurance through a group plan, they are charged much less than they would have to pay if they were getting their insurance individually through the health insurance company. There are many different health insurance plans for the employees to choose from. There are different deductible amounts to choose from and often there are co-payments to pay. The difference in the deductible plan you choose makes a difference in the cost of the premiums. There are different plans for families and individuals because families will need more coverage for their spouse and children, if there are any or if they plan to have any in the future. There are also different plans to choose from which gives you the choice of whether you want the health insurance company to pay say 50% of bills after the deductible is met for the year or if they want the company to pay 80% or 100%. These plans and offers will vary depending on the health insurance company. Insurance costs are too expensive for most people to be able to buy the health insurance on their own. If the company they work for does not help them, they and their families will have to suffer from lack of health services and medications. There are millions of people who do not have group health insurance and are suffering because the government isn’t helping them either. They are making below poverty level income and can not afford doctor bills and medications. Many of them have to decide whether to buy medications or food. This is no way for a country that is considered to be one of the richest countries in the world, to treat their citizens. There are Americans who are suffering because they cannot afford healthcare or medications but the government is helping some of the illegal people in this country. They are getting medical care, housing assistance, food stamps, and everything else they can get their hands on for free and they do not even have drivers licenses, etc. and do not have to obey the laws. They drive their vehicles, wear designer clothes, have roofs over their heads while some Americans are living on the streets and have to wait in the food line for a piece of bread. They have no roof over their head and they live in one of the richest countries in the world. As far as healthcare, they have none unless they should be one of the fortunate ones and live near a free clinic. All Text Copyright © Safety2005.org |
