Health

Your health is something that may be your mind often because today with all of the health news and reports, it is hard to ignore. There have been so many new discoveries and changes in the thoughts of scientists that they keep people guessing everyday as to what is good for us and what is not good. It may be healthier for us not to get worked up over it all. It can certainly be very stressful if we let it get to us. We just have to use a lot of common sense and good judgement when it comes to taking medications or figuring out what to eat and what not to eat.

We all know that pure or real is better than synthetic so we can start there and decide which foods we want to eat and feed our families. It makes sense that organic products like grains, vegetables, fruits, meat, fish, and poultry which contains no chemicals or preservatives is surely better for us. Many people are beginning to use supplements instead of prescription medications which have many dangerous side effects. Synthetic drugs may help one part of the body but in the process it may destroy other parts. We are in charge of our bodies so we and we alone can decide what we want to do with it. Of course it is important that we make informed decisions so we do not destroy our bodies and a doctor can help us do that. Exercise (even a little every day) can help tremendously and a proper diet is also very important. Just like the exercising, just small changes in out diets can make a difference, we just have to decide to do it and stick with it.

It has been reported that the baby boomer’s parents and grandparents are much healthier than the baby boomers so it makes sense that the offspring of the baby boomers are probably even less healthy. We can thank all of the processed foods with chemicals, additives, preservatives, sugars, fats, all of the nasty stuff that is destroying our health. Add NO exercise to this mix and you have disaster. The kids today do not get near the exercise that their parents or grandparents got when they were that age. That is due largely to the fact that there were no computers, nintendos, x-box, or other things to draw the younger generations attention. So instead of riding bikes, playing ball, or hide and seek, they would rather sit and play. When they sit and play, they often sit and munch on snacks that are not healthy. There is a new pyramid diet which has a list of very good, healthy snacks that we all can eat and help us achieve and maintain a healthy lifestyle.
