Health Canada
Health Canada is the department of the Federal Government of Canada which helps Canadian maintain and improve their health. Health Canada’s goal is to be one of countries with the healthiest people in the world. Health Canada encourages their residents to increase their physical activity and to eat a proper diet. They believe in preventative health maintenance so they can hold health cost down as much as possible and to improve the quality of life to their people. Health Canada manages health care costs by encouraging their Canadians to improve their lives through active living. The Department communicates with their people about health promotion, disease prevention, and safety. Their intent is to help the people make positive decisions about their health and well being and that of their families and friends. Canada’s healthcare system is called “Medicare” and is described as “an interlocking set of ten provincial and three territorial health insurance plans”. The system provides access to universal , comprehensive coverage.
There are some other countries that could take lessons in how to provide a country with health insurance from Health Canada. Canada helps keep all of their residents healthy, not just a chosen few. It is so strange that a country as rich as the United States is said to be, why can they not supply a much better health care system for their people. Why is there millions of people without health insurance and suffering because they can not afford to see a doctor or to buy medications. There is something very wrong here. Where is all of the taxpayers money going? What all is it being wasted on? There has to be some answers and there has to be some way to provide the people health insurance. There needs to be a cap put on the high rising costs of medications and doctor and hospital charges for their services. Many services are below par and are not worth near the price that the patients are charged. Plus there are many double billed instances and this is all uncalled for. Back when the computer was invented, it was stated that there would not be as many mistakes in billing or business management because the computers did not lie. What they did not think about when they made that statement was the fact that it is a human being behind that computer punching in those numbers and other information. Evidently someone is double clicking too often at the patients expense. Many people are charged for a doctors office visit and the doctor runs in and right back out in one breath. Often times they do not look at your records long enough to know what the heck you are even in the office for. It is too much of a money thing anymore. Gone are the doctors who actually cared about their patients. But they will turn away if you do not have health insurance and or the cash to pay your bill.
