Health Fitness

Health and fitness go hand in hand if we want to live a long productive life. In order to stay healthy we have to stay as fit as possible and to do this means regular exercise and proper diet. With a proper low fat, low calorie, low carbohydrate diet along with at least a thirty minute walk 3 or 4 times a week we can keep ourselves healthier. There is a newly released diet food pyramid that can be found online and if we stick to this food guide and exercise (even a little), we are doing what we can to live a long, more fulfilling life. Many people can not exercise because of disabilities but if they stick to a proper eating habit they can help themselves live longer. Eating foods that contain less fat and sugar will definitely be a step in the right direction. Another health problem is the processed foods. They contain many chemicals, additives, and artificial ingredients that can destroy our bodies. This is just a minor detail that the FDA has failed to discover for our benefits until recently. At one time they inform us that a certain food is good for us, then ten years or so down the road they discover that the food was not so good for us after all. This works in reverse also. Some foods such as eggs and milk were once bad for us and now in their fresh raw state, they are better for us than eggs from caged chickens and milk that has been processed and homogenized. People age giving up to $12 per gallon for fresh milk right out of the cow instead of buying the milk that has been processed. It is the way the foods are being processed and the preservatives that are added that is so dangerous for us. Not only that but processed milk has very little health benefits because it has been watered down and cream has been eliminated from it.

It has been discovered that the baby boomers parents and grandparents are healthier than the baby boomers and their kids and grandkids. The reason for this is because the elder generations ate more fresh fruits, vegetables and meats and there were less processed foods and much less chemicals such as pesticides and herbicides around back when they were growing up. Meats were butchered and packed without the added water and injections that are put into them today. Now the scientists are saying the fresh foods are much better for us after all. That is just great. We eat, drink, and breath what the scientists are good for us for years and not they claim they are bad for us. This sure makes one wonder if all of our tax money was just wasted all of those years plus what part has this played in our health today.
