Heart health Overall heart health is vital to our survival so we have to do what we can to keep our hearts as healthy as possible by eating right and exercising as much as possible. There is a new diet food pyramid that has been introduced to the public and it is not like the food pyramid we learned about in health class so many years ago. The new pyramid has whole grains, fresh fruits, vegetables, fish, and other healthy foods plus the daily recommended amounts. Some of the best products for a healthy heart are supplements such as CoEnzyne Q-10, hawthorn berry, grapeseed extract, selenium, red wine extract, potassium, Vitamin E, folic acid, fish oil, cayenne pepper, flaxseed oil, and policosanol. Many more foods are coming on the market geared to a healthier heart. Less sugar and less fat is a major plus. People are poisoned with so many of the processed foods because they contain additives, preservatives, and artificial ingredients that are very harmful to us. Many people are beginning to go back to the basics by eating more fresh fruits, grains, vegetables, fish, eggs, milk, and meats that are organically grown. If the products are organically grown they have not been sprayed with chemicals such as pesticides and herbicides like the foods you get in the stores. The organic products come from the farms where the soil is not filled with chemical fertilizers. There are many farmers markets springing up across the country that sell nothing but organic foods and people are paying high prices for the products. It was reported that one man drove a long way and paid $12 per gallon for fresh milk fresh off of the farm. This is supposed to be against the law for farmers to sell milk this way but there are many people who have always preferred the fresh milk. Many people were raised on the fresh milk and it contains no processed ingredients and has not been watered down and has not had the cream removed from it. Many cereals in the grocery stores are now claiming to be more heart healthy and maybe they are. Many companies are also making false claims about their products being heart healthy just to sell their products. It is hard to know which ones to believe and which ones not to believe. The safest way to know if the food is safe is to purchase it from the farmers market or raise your own in your own garden in your backyard. Exercise is a great way to keep a healthy heart and gardening is a good way to exercise. It has been stated that it is one of the best ways to exercise and get a daily workout.
