Sexual Health

Sexual health is an important part of living. Many people have problems such as illnesses, both physical and mental which may cause a problem where their sexual health is concerned. There are some sexual health problems that both men and women can have and there are different problems each sex can have individually. Sexual inability can be caused from many different factors. There may be a disease, illness, mental problem, lack of desire or pleasure, erectile dysfunction. Prostrate problems, infertility, medications and supplements, menopause, and much more can make a person not want to have sex or prevent them from performing in a normal way.

Some of the disabilities or illnesses that can cause some people from having a normal sex life are cancer, disabilities, multiple sclerosis or ms, heart disease, spinal cord injury, brain injury, diabetes, cerebral palsy, autism, back pain, arthritis, HIV or AIDS, Spina Bifida, and others. You can find a lot more information about this at sexualhealth.com. They have information about each of these causes. It has been stated that “ if you don’t use it, you lose it.” This might be said for sex also. Many people believe that they lose their sexuality with age but this does not have to be true. The sexual muscles do begin to go lax if not used as often as when the individual was younger but it does not have to be a lost art. Many people in their golden years are still enjoying sex and will until they no longer want to have it or can’t because of an illness. It may not be as active in the elderly but it is not dead either.

Some of the main problems men face concerning sexual health are erectile dysfunction, cancer, prostrate problems, kidney problems, rapid or delayed ejaculation, other ejaculate issues, penis or testicular health problems, infertility, and others. If the individual feels that they have a sexual problem, it is wise to discuss it with a doctor. They can help or direct you to someone who can help. Sexual problems is a subject that many people (both men and women) do not like to discuss but everyone needs to realize that they are not the only ones facing these problems. There is help available, one only needs to ask for it.

Women also have individual sexual problems . Some of the most popular ones are menopause, gynecological problems (trouble with ovaries, uterine infections, cysts, etc.), menstruation and breast problems, infertility, pregnancy, childbirth, mental problems, stress, depression, and more. Sexual health is defined as “the state of physical, emotional, mental, and social well-being related to sexuality”. Sex is a subject that many people do not like to discuss and in some minds it is for reproductive purposes only. Others feel that it is a free for all activity with no strings attached game. Sex is not only a physical activity, it works on the mind too and many people see it differently. No one can honestly say they know it all when it comes to people and sex because there are too many answers possible.
