Home Monitored Security System The home monitored security system provides more active security than the unmonitored security system. If you have a monitoring service hired to monitor your home, it is being watched twenty four hours a day, seven days a week for you. If there is an emergency, they will know it and contact the proper authorities. If you prefer to monitor your security system yourself you can have it connected to your television, VCR, security monitor, or your computer. If it is connected to your computer, you can monitor your home from anywhere around the world as long as you have access to the internet. If you don't have time to do it yourself or just do not want to be bothered with it, there are many reputable monitoring services available to do it for you at a monthly fee. You will most likely have to sign an agreement with the service for a year's service or more. Make sure you understand this and all of the agreement before you sign it. One of the main complaints a customer has is that they didn't know it was for a certain period of time and they try to get out of the agreement or fail to pay for it. This could lead to a lawsuit and a lot of expenses and hard feelings etc. which could have been avoided if you had only read the agreement completely and understood it all. If there is something you do not understand ask questions until you do understand it or take it to a lawyer and have them explain it to you. Save yourself a lot of stress and do not sign anything you have not read thoroughly or do not understand. Some of the top security services who provide security service to their customers are ADT, which offers a free security system if you use their monitoring service. You must sign an agreement to use their monitoring service for a period of two or three years and there may also be an installation fee for the security system. One research shows they charge $99 installation fee. Just make sure you understand the agreement before you sign it. If you cannot afford their monthly fee for the specified time period, do not sign it. Avoid a lot of stress and commotion later down the road because you signed the agreement without understanding or reading it. Other reputable home monitored security systems dealers are Brink's, Guardian, GE, and more. The decision is yours to make as to which security system you want and which monitoring service you want if you want one. Do a comparison of some of the companies online or by calling them for information you want to know about. Get brochures, catalogs, or whatever the company can provide you with so you can decide which company you want to deal with. You can also talk to family members or friends who have a security system installed and that can help you make up your mind too. Compare systems, prices, customer service provided, installation fees, monitoring fees, and anything else you can think of, before you decide which company you will purchase your products and monitoring service from.
