There are also many virus and trojan protection software options also. Some are free, some are not. McAfee and Norton are two of the most popular. One of them is usually the installed on your computer when you purchase it, however it may be just a trial basis for about six months, then you have to purchase their service by the year if you want to continue using it. There may be some parts of it that you can continue to use without paying for it. The options differ with each one so you have to do your research to decide which one you want to use. There is many other dependable security software you can download and like the firewalls, it is better to have more than one program because no one program will catch all of the problems. Ad-Aware and SpyBot- Search and Destroy are two free programs which will scan and destroy viruses and trojans. Get as much security as you can on your computer to prevent destruction of the computer and to keep hackers from stealing all of your personal information and possibly your identity.
