Home Security System Wired The wired home security system is an important addition to the security of your home. There is no time in history that home security is more important than it is today. The crime rate is at an all time high and doesn't look to drop any time soon. We as homeowners are responsible for our own homes and it is important to make our homes as secure as we can. Our families are very important to us and we need to keep them as safe as possible while they are at home. No one else is going to do it for us so we have to get our priorities in order and secure our homes with a security system even if it is just a simple alarm system. Security systems range in price of as little as $49 and upwards to several thousand. For the homeowner on a tight budget, begin with a simple security system and add devices as the budget allows. Simple things can be done to make your home more secure which cost next to nothing. Deadbolt locks, locks on windows, Security Yard signs, security decals for windows and doors, motion detector lights, remote controls to control lights, televisions, or radios to come on and go off at designated times to make intruders think someone is at home. These are all cheap but efficient ways to secure your home more. There are two basic types of security systems, the wireless and the hardwire systems. The wireless systems are easy to install needing only to be plugged into a wall outlet and maybe the devices should be mounted on a wall so they may require a screwdriver at most to install them. The wireless security system can be installed in just a few hours whereas the hardwire system may take up to several days. If the homeowner is building a new home, the hardwire security system can easily be installed in the walls before the final wall covering goes in. It can be installed when the other electric wiring goes in and can be connected easily. If the home is already built and the homeowner is installing a hardwire system, there is going to be more time involved and more carpentry skills needed. There will be holes to drill, run wires through the walls or ceiling, connect the wiring into the existing wiring. Then comes the repairs of the wall damage or any other damage done while trying to install the hardwire system. It is not hard to install the hardwire system, it just takes longer and there are repairs to be done after the system is installed. While the wireless systems may be a little more expensive, the installation of the hardwire system may cost more in the long run because of the time involved. Whether you purchase a wireless security system or the hardwire security system is not the important issue here. The importance of a security system in your home has never been greater. Security for our families and personal property is our problem and we need to solve that problem with a home security system. All Text Copyright © Safety2005.org |
