The Phentermine prescription weight loss drug has many possible side effects. There may also be some side effects not yet reported. If you are taking the Phentermine drug to lose weight and are experiencing any side effects at all, contact your doctor as soon as possible and stop using the drug. The side effects that have been reported are irregular heart beat, very high blood pressure, allergic reactions (such as hives, closing of the throat, trouble breathing, swelling of the tongue, lips, or face), headaches, hallucinations, confusion, unusual behavior, dizziness, tremors, anxiety, nervousness, restlessness, insomnia, diarrhea, constipation, swelling of the legs or ankles, dry mouth, odd taste in mouth, impotence, or change in sex drive.

The Phentermine prescription drug was introduced to the public in 1959 when it was approved by the Food and Drug Administration. It was approved as an appetite suppressant and a stimulant for the central nervous system. It was to be used by the obese who needed to lose a substantial amount of weight to prevent serious health issues caused by the excess weight. The drug is addictive so it can only be used for about twelve weeks and when stopped, it has to be done gradually to prevent withdrawal symptoms. The Phentermine drug was one part of the two drug weight loss pill Fen-Phen which was taken off of the market in 1997 because of reports of valvular heart disease and pulmonary hypertension. The Phentermine drug was allowed back on the market but is closely controlled by the Food and Drug Administration. It now works alone with no fenfluramine or dexfenfluramine in it. Those who can not use the Phentermine drug are those who are under eighteen years of age, those with heart problems, high blood pressure, glaucoma, atherosclerosis, hyperthyroidism, allergy to other sympathomimetic amines, pregnant or nursing, anxiety disorder, epilepsy, diabetes, agitation, have a history of drug or alcohol abuse, or those who are taking certain medications or supplements. When you discuss the use of this drug with your doctor, you need to let them know every medication or supplement you are taking as well as every medical problem you have or have experienced in the past. You should also let them know if there is any medications you are allergic to.

The herbal form of Phentermine is a very good alternative for those who choose to use all natural herbs or for those who can not use the Phentermine prescription drug. The herbal Phentermine contains the all natural herbs, Green Tea, Biotin, Bioperine, L-Carnitine, Camellia Sinensis, Piper Nigrum, and Alpha Lipoic Acid. These herbs all work very well together to suppress the appetite, increase energy and metabolism, burn excess fat and calories, and stimulate thermogenesis. There are no known side effects and no prescriptions or doctors visits needed. It is not habit forming because there are no drugs or stimulants and it is a much safer method of losing weight.
