There are thousands of rehab centers for drug, alcohol, and gambling addicts across the country. There are some in the large cities and some also in some of the medium sized cities. The large cities have more than one rehab center. There is a great need for rehab centers today because the drugs and alcohol, and the gambling is becoming more out of control than ever. The children are using drugs and drinking alcohol at much younger ages and by the time they are teens they are already addicted to them. The need is there for more rehab centers because in the future they will be needed. There seems to be no end to the illegal drugs because they are so widespread and the greed is much stronger than the feelings for our children and for our fellow human beings. It does not matter to some how the drugs are destroying so many lives and killing people. The drug dealers are out after the almighty buck and in order to accomplish this, they get the kids addicted as soon as they can. The laws and penalties for dealing in drugs are not strong enough so they continue to be, sold by the millions, on the street. Many times the drugs are confiscated by the authorities, then mysteriously disappear from the holding facilities before they are destroyed. So the dealers get to walk. It has been proven more than once that the drugs disappear into the hands of crooked cops who sell them and pocket the money themselves. There seems to be no end to the situation so the only other alternative is to educate our kids the best we can then hope they understand enough not to try the drugs. The kids are under so much peer pressure today that they often try the drugs just so they can belong. If their self esteem is low, they will try anything in order to feel like somebody and feel that they belong to something.
