Drug Alcohol Rehab Drug and alcohol rehab centers are scattered all over the United states. There are thousands of them so there should be one near anyone who might need the use of one. There are many drugs which are addictive. This includes over the counter, prescription, and illegal drugs. Some of them are Codeine, Cocaine, Crack, Demerol, Detox, Ecstasy, Hallucinogens, Heroin, LSD, Marijuana, Methamphetamine, Morphine, Oxycontin, Opiates, Percocet, GHB, Steroids, Valium, Xanax and possibly more. There are aerosol spray cans which cause some people to become addicted to the fumes which contain drugs or gas. There are gambling addicts as well as alcoholics so the need for rehab centers is very great. There may be a need for even more of them in the future because children are drinking and doing drugs at a much younger age today than in the past. There seems to be more social drinking today than in the past and the children want to belong and fit in with the crowd so they are going to do what they see the adults doing. They think that is the only way to have fun so more of them will need rehab help in the future. Rehab programs are more than just detoxification of the body. It is a multi-phased program to detox the body, mind and soul. The professionals will support you through the first phase of getting the poisons out of the body. Then the cause and reasoning behind the addiction has to be discovered and dealt with. Some problems in the past such as physical or mental abuse, sexual abuse, or family problems such as money financial, infidelity, depression, or other family problems might cause the problems that lead to the addictions. Sometimes the individual is not even aware there is a problem until the addiction has already taken control of the body. Alcohol and drug addiction control the body instead of the individual controlling the addiction. They don’t even realize it until they have hit rock bottom and there is no way out except up. That is when most people admit they have a problem and decide they want to get help and get their life back in order and back to normal. There are three types of detox, Medical detox which is the withdrawal process and a medical doctor will supervise this process., Physical detox which you will need once the poison is out of your system and build your body back up physically, and emotional detox in which you receive counseling during the withdrawal process. There are different phases of the detox program because just getting the poison out of the body is not going to cure the patient. All Text Copyright © Safety2005.org |
