Best Nutritional Supplements Trying to decide which nutritional supplements can be stressful or it can be easy depending on how much research you do. Family members and friends who use supplements are about the best source for information when looking for information about nutritional supplements because they can give you first hand information and an honest opinion. If you ask a store clerk or business owner who sells supplements, they are going to tell you that theirs is the best because they want to sell theirs to you. Honest is the best policy but it is often not what you will hear from a business owner. This applies to everything and not just nutritional supplements. Nutritional supplements are much more popular today than they were 15 or 20 years ago. Many more people are turning to natural supplements because they are usually much cheaper than over the counter drugs or prescription drugs and they are much safer to use. Many drugs have serious side effects and while they may be good to halp one medical problem, thay might be destroying another vital organ. Most supplements do not have any side effects or if any, they are mild. There are some supplements that do not mix well with medications or may be harmful if you are suffering from certain health issues. You should discuss the use of supplements with your doctor and if you experience any side effects from any supplement, you should report it to your doctor. You can also report it to your local health department and also call the FDA Consumer hotline. The Food and Drug Administration do not control the diet supplements but if there are any that cause severe health issues or death they can get the supplement banned in the United States. Ephedra is a good example of this. Ephedra was banned in the United States for the first time in 2003 but the ban was lifted in 2005. The FDA provided enough proof to the Federal court to show that ephedra was causing strokes, heart attacks, and even death when used in small amounts as small as 8 mg per dose. The FDA got the court to ban ephedra in the United States in late 2006. Most of the products which contained ephedra have replaced ephedra with another natural ingredient which is much safer to use. Nutritional supplements come in many forms for many purposes. There are some used for medicinal purposes to control blood pressure, blood glucose, cholesterol, vision, digestion, pain relievers, joints, energy, weight loss, antioxidants, multi vitamins for proper balance in the system when one does not eat a proper diet. Hearing, prostrate, respiratory system, the circulatory system and much more. There seems to be a supplement for just about everything that ails you or to help you lead a healthy life.
