Anna Nicole Smith Weight Loss Anna Nicole Smith was a spokesperson for the Trimspa weight loss program from 2003 until her untimely death on February 8, 2007. Trimspa was having financial trouble because of low sales volume before Anna Nicole became their spokeswoman in 2003. They were hit the bottom of the barrel and Anna became their way out.Anna became the spokesperson for Trimspa after she made the comment that she had lost 69 pounds while on the Trimspa weight loss pills. Her presence as Trimspa’s spokeswoman helped Trimspa’s sales increase tremendously for several years. The sales began to drop when the people began to realize that the diet pills did not work for them like Trimspa and Anna Nicole claimed they would. Lawsuits began to surface from unhappy customers. The Federal Trade Commission fined Trimspa for making statements about their products that they could not back up with scientific proof and for false advertising. Trimspa agreed to pay the fine but claimed that it was not because they were admitting to guilt, they just wanted to get the Federal Trade Commission to drop the investigation they had ongoing for two years on the company. After Anna Nicole had been a spokeswoman for the company for awhile and sales were booming, she let the bombshell out that she was also taking other weight loss aids to help her lose weight at the same time she was taking the Trimspa pills. This did not sit too well for many people who had believed in her and actually thought she had lost the 69 pounds with Trimspa pills alone. There were many lawsuits and Anna Nicole was named first in some of them along with Trimspa. There were charges of false advertising. Some lawsuits have been settled and others are still pending. It is not known if Anna Nicole was still taking Trimspa at the time of her death. She had many prescription drugs in her system but there was no mention of Trimspa. Trimspa sales dropped tremendously after the lawsuits and fines began to surface. It was also thought that the death of Anna Nicole would hurt the sales of Trimspa pills. Some felt that Trimspa was already on a downward spiral and feel that they may not be able to climb back out of it this time. Some people feel that it is just a matter of time before Trimspa collapses. Time will tell their demise but it doesn’t look good for them at this time. There are still lawsuits to settle so they may not survive after all is said and done. All Text Copyright © Safety2005.org |
