LA Weight Loss Center

The LA Weight Loss Center has been around since 1989 and now there are more than 650 LA centers in 48 states, Canada, and Europe. LA weight loss is one of the largest weight loss programs on the market today. The company CEO has a goal to become the largest weight management in the world. The good thing about the LA weight loss plan is that their diet uses regular foods we can find in a supermarket. The counselors will push the company products, snack bars, and products on their participants. What can you eat you ask? Macaroni and cheese, steak and potatoes, fruits, and vegetables. Fats are limited however. The company encourages protein bars (in flavors of chocolate-peanut butter & chocolate mint crunch), weight loss supplements, and LA Lites.

There are three phases of the LA weight loss plan. The first phase is the weight loss phase. Dieters are assigned 1,100 to 1,800 calories a day. After reaching the weight loss goal they want they move into the six week stabilization phase. The last or third phase is the maintenance phase which lasts forever and are to help you keep the weight off by way of counseling help. Foods like candy, donuts, and other tempting foods are reserved for this phase. The diet is approximately 45 percent carbs, 35 to 40 percent protein, and 15 to 20 percent fat. What it all boils down to is eating sensible portions. The counselors will gather your information (height, weight, age, activity level, and medical history to figure the right program for each person. Plans are based on a calorie level but you do not count calories, you count portions from different food categories. You have different groups of foods such as proteins, fruits, vegetables, fat, starch, and dairy. You follow food plans made just for you and you learn how to fix food in a healthy way. There are counsel meetings and weigh-ins that take place privately.

There are over 40 types of designed weight loss programs to choose from. There are not many banned foods in the plans except for candy, sweets, processed pastries, but they will be slowly reintroduced back into the diet in the third phase. It is mostly a matter of control and portion. Plus add the way you prepare the food and you can love a life on a diet and really not notice it once you get used to it and have some self control. The cost of the LA diet is one of the most expensive of them all. It will cost anywhere from $5 to $8 per week. You will have to pay for a year up front when you sign up.
