Unexplained Weight Loss Unexplained weight loss can be caused by many different health problems. It will possibly take a doctor and some tests to diagnose some reasons for unexplained weight loss. If you have diarrhea, flu, or other short term illness you might be able to diagnose it yourself. If you have no idea what the cause of it is you need to contact your doctor. There are some very serious illnesses that can cause sudden weight loss and if you are not dieting, you need to find out what the problem is. In some cases it can be life threatening. Even if you have the flu or other problem and experience diarrhea for more than 3 or 4 days, you should seek medical help. Other medical problems which can cause unexpected weight loss are gallbladder problems, small intestine problems, hyperthyroidism, fever, cancer, amphetamine or drug abuse, digestive enzyme problems, viral hepatitis, congestive heart failure, hyperglycemia (too much calcium), hypokalemia (too much potassium in the blood), depression, anorexia, and some medications. Unexplained weight loss is not something to ignore. Seek medical advice as soon as possible. There are some diet products or supplements that contain ingredients that are unexplainable. Scientists do not know how or why they help you lose weight but they just do. Some people do not care what the scientific reason for it is, they are just happy that the product helps them lose their unwanted weight and hopefully without side effects. Some weight loss diets have been scientifically tested but some others have not been tested so there is no rhyme or reason why some supplements aid in weight loss, they just do. The Food and Drug Administration has no control over natural supplements so many of them have had no testing done. If you want to lose weight because you are overweight, some of the most popular natural weight loss products are Hoodia Gordonii, Green Tea, Herbal Phentermine, Apple cider vinegar, Chitosan, Grapefruit Pectin, Bitter Orange, and more. These natural products do not have any known side effects and are much safer to use than the weight loss drugs. There are no prescriptions needed and no doctors visits necessary. Unless you have health issues, are taking medications, are pregnant or nursing, then you need to discuss the weight loss products with your doctor before you use them. Some medications do not mix well with certain medications and there is no evidence to show what the effects to a baby is when the mother uses the weight loss products. Be safe and make sure the weight loss products are safe for you to use before you spend money on them or use them. Your doctor can help you make a decision about which one is safe for you to use.
